The state government of Jharkhand launched the housing scheme with the name of Abua Awas Yojana Jharkhand on the previous Independence Day i.e. on 15th August 2023. Now the one year of this scheme has been completed.
The first instalment of the scheme has been released by the government on 23rd June 2024. Under this scheme, all people who belong to poor families and don’t have their own house will get the 3-room pucca house which costs Rs.2 Lakhs. All those people will be selected as beneficiaries who will not get the benefit under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana.
The scheme has the motive to provide benefits to more than 8 lakh poor families of the state till 31st March 2026. To date, more than 31 Lakh Families have submitted their application form and 29.7 Lakh families are going to be selected as beneficiaries. The amount of Rs.2 Lakhs can be released to the beneficiaries in a total of five instalments. In the first instalment, all the beneficiaries will get the amount of 15% of the total amount of Rs.2 Lakh to start building their pucca house.
